Our Program
The Saddle & STEM After School Program for girls is a cycling and educational enrichment program serving middle school girls. The program will run in the Fall and Spring of each academic-year. The girls are taught the STEM sciences through real-world and hands on learning experiences. Professional bike mechanics will assist the girls with assembly of the bikes while using the principles of STEM. The S & S Program Coaches will provide the girls with educational enrichment to help the girls develop an interest in the STEM sciences and cycling. At the end of the program, the girls will get to keep the bikes. We want to be part of the process that helps girls be prepared to lead careers in STEM related fields in the future.

Our Philosophy
The existence of a disparate ration of girls to boys in STEM programs is of great importance and urgency. Exclusion of opportunities in STEM careers for young women is inevitable if they are not prepared with the necessary skills. We believe that the sooner girls are exposed to STEM related careers, the better. Developing student's belief that engineering and technology is directly correlated with everyday life, such as cycling, is important to significantly increasing a girls' interest in STEM.
